Time has really gotten away from me since the implementation of the swing set. We have had lots of ups ( and a few downs) since the last time I posted. Maddox had her 2 year check up with Dr. Anderson a couple of weeks ago and passed with flying colors. She weighs 26 pounds putting her at the 38th percentile and is 34.5 inches tall putting her at the 64th percentile. So she is doing well. Dr. Anderson said it is ok to switch her from whole milk to 2% or 1% but not to skim, like Eric and I drink, until she turns 3 since she is still on the small side for weight. By the 'weigh' we looked up Kennon's weight ( 14.2lbs) and he is NOT at the 14th percentile like they told us at his 4 month check up, he is at the 40% percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. They must have entered it into the computer incorrectly. Anyhow, both kids are doing well with their Well Child check ups. Maddox and Kennon have both been battling viruses over the last couple of weeks. Maddox had a 104.7 fever at one point and now Kennon has another ear infection. Apparently he didn't respond to the amoxicillin they gave him a few weeks ago for his first ear infection so we are on a more broad spectrum antibiotic now which hopefully will do the trick. Maddox has recovered from her virus and is doing well. Last weekend we drove up to Aurora to celebrate Great Grandma Berg's 92nd birthday!! What a special weekend. Great Grandma loved watching the kids and Maddox was sure to be right next to Great Grandma to help blow her candles out, unwrap her presents and of course eat a big piece of her birthday cake. We had a really nice time. AND YES that is Maddox putting lipstick on Kennon's lips!! Of course it is a stuffed lipstick container but something tells me as time goes on he may end up with REAL lipstick on his lips. He LOVES to watch her and really any kids that are bigger than him. He is sitting up really well and loves to explore his hands and his feet too. He is a drool monster though, so different from Maddox. He is really giving Eric and I a run for our money in the sleeping department! It seems the last few weeks he has returned to being AWAKE more than SLEEPING especially in the last 2 days. He just doesn't seem to require the sleep that Maddox did and still does. We are hoping once he gets over the antibiotic maybe then he'll start making it through the night consistently. Maddox LOVED trick-or-treating. AND YES you are not seeing double, that is 2 monkeys. One of our buddies down the road, Regan, who is just a few weeks old than Maddox was the same monkey. I could see it from afar so we thought we'd go to a few houses with them. Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries but they were so adorable together. Regan took Maddox's hand and led her from house to house as if she had done it a 100 times over! When we got back to the house Maddox was quick to explore all her goodies. She has never had candy per se, but she sure did understand that there must be something good behind all those shiny colorful wrappers. I have to admit we didn't actually open anything for her even though a few times she said in a very demanding voice ' open this'. We distracted her to dinner just shortly after we arrived home. We are not HUGE candy fans around here. We/I'd much rather have a brownie/cookie/piece of cake and believe me, Maddox has had her fair share of that since she started eating real food. I figure keeping her from the candy just a bit longer will save some time ( and probably some headache) in the grocery check out lane. She is loving Kindercare these days and goes in to play with the other kids at drop off without any crying and runs to us with big smiles when we pick her up. The teachers continue to report to us she is doing really well and is a sweet girl. They even got her to sit still long enough on Friday to French braid her hair?? How did they do that?? This month they are talking about colors if I remember right....oh and also farm animals. Friday they got to milk a cow!! ( white paint in latex gloves)....sounds pretty messy to me, but what an experience. Well, there are tons of pictures. The pink Carhartts are from Grandpa Jim and Grandma Jean...so cute! We have been playing the Wii with her lately. She loves to try to maneuver the remote to play too, but isn't quite coordinated enough to really make anything happen on the screen. Earlier today she said 'No, No, No, Eric'!! She is really into telling people ' no no no' especially Kennon in her very mother like voice ( hmmmm wonder where she hears that?) Everyday is a new adventure with her.
