Hammering, clanging and banging OH MY!!

Empty shelves the framer and his crew built last Friday 3.8.13 for all our basement storage stuff.

So the framers came back today to frame up the walls!! I've included a lot of pictures which don't really do it justice but they'll have to do.  It was really loud here all day but they got it all done in a day.  We will have a bit of a lull now until next Tuesday when all the mechanics will be put in ( stereo equipment, moving the shower drain/vents in the bathroom, HVAC stuff etc). We have been given a very detailed calendar of when things are going to be completed.  AND we are scheduled to close on 5.24.13 and that INCLUDES a 2 week or so buffer at the end.  So, that date is great in my mind!! The kids are really excited and tolerated the noise well today.  They are both very healthy and have been sleeping and napping great ( unless you count pink eye....which in this house is just a little bump in the road....) They tend to turn into little acrobats after dinner, all charged up with food and ready to rock and roll after their afternoon naps. They are very ingenious using all the pillows and the step stools to do lots of tricks.  I've included some of the video. They are too funny and really playing pretty well together in the last couple of weeks.  OK!! I'll let you get to the pictures. Enjoy.
Lumbar loaded in through the egress window ready and waiting to be framed up to create the walls.

Maddox sitting atop the lumbar for the walls.

Eric loaded the shelves with all our storage stuff yesterday ( Sunday) and covered it with plastic to protect it during the building phase.

The framers came back today ( Monday) to build out the walls.  IT WAS SERIOUSLY LOUD...so we had a picnic lunch up in our bedroom to escape the noise!!  I told Maddox we were going to have a picnic lunch and she asked if we had any picnic baskets and I said no and then she politely said ' Maybe the workers can build us a basket!!'  TOO CUTE. The kids loved picnicking!!!  AND they both actually napped through all the noise. KTK 2 hours and MLK 1.5 hours!! I couldn't believe it.

I asked the kids how old they were  Kennon said THREE and held up a ONE finger.  Maddox said THREE and held up a ONE finger......eyes on Calliou.  I think we have a little work to do on those numbers.

PB and J ( blackberry jelly on Maddo's mouth)

I found some low sugar juice boxes at Sam's on Saturday. They are ELMO BIG BIRD and COOKIE and the kids love them.  I haven't decided which is better low sugar or 100% juice.  If the boxes are 100% juice they usually have more sugar.  These are 60% juice and with less calories so I think they just watered them down. But, the kids seem to like them and I feel like they are slightly healthier. Tough call.  But, I was tired of just giving the kids milk and water and I"m sure they were too.  Maddox didn't have a juice box till she was at least 2 1/2.  Kennon is scoring big!!!

Check out his feet.  Ever since he was an INFANT he has ALWAYS had his feet crossed. Not sure if it has something to do with him having been breech or what.  Maddox never did that but it is rare to find KTK sitting with his feet not crossed.

Standing in the TV room looking into the 5th bedroom/the kids playroom. It will have french doors at the opening.  I like the fact that we were able to keep the bay window effect off to the left.

Standing at the foot of the steps looking into the LARGE closet off to the right of the bottom of the steps.  The bathroom is the room off to the left and to the far right the foundation wall you can see in the back right is the exercise room. It will NOT be framed. We are just going to paint the foundation walls and put carpet tiles down. LOW KEY = LOW COST!!

Standing just outside the 5th bedroom looking into the media room. The built ins will be along the far wall. A fake soffet was built across the ceiling to allow the built ins to have a congruent surface to butt up against.

Standing in between the 5th bedroom and the media room ( the space we are calling our game room to be set up with a table for cards/games art project etc) looking directly ahead at what will be the wet bar in between those 2 small walls ( which may go away. We were not anticipating the walls surrounding the bar and we surprised to see them framed up. They may come down to make it more open.) The doorway to the left will have just a regular door and will be the access point to the storage, furnace, water heater, radon system. etc.
