Disney 2014-Memory Maker Photos (1 of 2)

So it is going to be virtually impossible for me to do much writing and expect to get this post done by Christmas…so I'll pretty much try to describe our wonderfully magical trip through picture captions only!! There are tons of pictures and I think I might even have to break it up into a couple of posts. These first pictures were all taken by the Disney Caste Members as part of the photography package I purchased called the Memory Maker.  I was able to edit and add borders to add some fun. So folks…remove all objects such as sunglasses and hats, pull down and then up to secure your safety bar and get ready to enjoy the Kies Family Disney Vacation ride… :)  (Yes…I'm still living life through Disney)

This was our first dinner, Tuesday night, at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort.   We got to dine and dance with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald.  Maddox and Kennon both LOVED the mickey mouse mac-n-cheese.  (little did we know that night, it would be the first of many meals of mac-n-cheese…. HEY, we were on vacation so we let the kids have pretty much whatever they wanted…and Eric and I too :)

Wednesday morning we got up early and headed to Magic Kingdom…our first official park of the vacation. We had a blast and practically walked on most of the rides, thanks to great planning recommendations from our travel agent, friends and family.  Maddox was super excited about meeting Ariel….who was very friendly….! I can't imagine sitting in one spot hour after hour meeting these kiddos!  Wow….  Ariel asked Maddox what she had for breakfast.  I'm not sure what Maddox said but she must have asked Ariel and Ariel said she had salmon pancakes…and Maddox must have showed some desire because Ariel shouted out to us to 'get that girl some salmon pancakes for breakfast tomorrow'  The characters were ALL really interactive with the kids.

Sebastian from The Little Mermaid in the palm of our hands. The Magic of Disney.

You'll see along the way..it is rather difficult to get a great family shot…with four happy smiles… and actually by the end of the trip both kids were rather negative when I said "look there's a Photopass Caste Member…let's go get our picture!!"  But, I'm so happy we did…it is so fun to have all the pics to look at now.

 Cinderella's Famous Castle

This ride is called Splash Mountain and is in Magic Kingdom and has a height requirement of 40 inches…you can see from the picture..Kennon barely made it!!  (yes…he's sitting beside me)  It is a log plume ride and was my favorite ride in the park. It was based on the Braer Rabbit characters…where the Braer Fox is always trying to catch the Braer Rabbit. So cute!  We rode this one a couple of times and even one time at night!!

Meeting Woody and Jessie from Toy Story….

These two pictures are from the brand new just opened Seven Dwarf's Mine Train.  It is a real legit roller coaster, super smooth, and with great animatronic dwarfs.  Kennon was tall enough to ride this guy by 2 inches…  We rode it twice..and managed to get the prize seats…once in the front of the train and the second time in the back of the train.  There is a video of us on the ride too I'll try to get uploaded. The kids still say today 'this was their most favorite ride'!

Who's the roller coaster fan in this picture!!?? Love it!

One word about all our character meet and greets… HAM!!  Kennon was a princess ham and virtually every character just LOVED on him. Maddox tended to be a bit more shy…but she always got her fair share of one on one attention with the characters too. They'd usually sense that she was the shyer of the two and get down on one knee to greet her…just perfect for Maddox's style.  Kennon on the other hand would just give his big hammy smile and they'd, at times, KISS HIM.  In the above picture he had been kissed by Anastasia, one of the step sisters at our dinner with Cinderella.  Anastasia said she was going to marry Kennon!! It was so funny…Maddox was very verbal about the fact that Kennon just could NOT marry Anastasia. I'm quite certain she really thought Anastasia was for REAL! Oh…the magic of Disney.

 Meeting Tinkerbell

This was the night we had dinner with Cinderella, Prince charming, the ugly stepsisters Anastasia and Drisella and the evil step mother.  The stepsisters were loud and boisterous and 'all about themselves' just how they are in the movie. And Cinderella was just sweet and kind and very attentive to Maddox's timid nature.  (I'll let you wonder where the other two members of our family are…. they missed the picture but made it for dinner :) Nothing catastrophic ….just typical Disney Drama :O

Let's see, Thursday morning we hopped on a bus and headed to Hollywood Studios. The big draw for this park was to see the Frozen fireworks at the end of the night, where it literally SNOWED at the end!! and to see the Frozen Parade… where Anna and Elsa make a grand entrance to the park each day at 11AM.   Fun Fun….

Friday morning we hopped on another bus (to get to the Magic Kingdom we rode a cool super fast AND EASY boat…note to self for the next trip!!) to Epcot.   This had the least to do for our aged kids but we made the most of it.  The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival happened to be going on. A cool event but not exactly kiddo friendly.

We had dinner reservations at a place in 'Norway' in Epcot's country section. We got to meet Ariel and Cinderella (again),  Aurora, and Snow White.  The kids got to parade around the restaurant with each princess.

This picture was taken in front of France in Epcot. It was beautiful. Disney knows that Epcot is not generally for kiddos so they set up these 'KidCot' stations in several of the countries where the kids can do crafts and color to keep their attention while the parents dine on authentic food.  So France had a station!  The stations are manned by caste members who are really from that country. The France girl was really sweet…and of course Kennon hammed it up with her!  We bought some time at the KidCot station before the great fireworks show, Illuminations, started.

 Thumbs up dude!

Ok…well it won't let me add anymore pictures…so I'll have to do another post for the rest of the pictures!  Keep scrolling down for post #2 of 2.
